An Exciting Step Forward — Our Community Land Trust

11 October 2026
Yesterday, we took an exciting step forward and submitted an application to establish a Community Land Trust (CLT).
Our hope is to create a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy, whilst preserving the traditional horse grazing that has been part of the land for so many years. 🐴
We are also incredibly fortunate to have a local resident, the retired Head of Kew Gardens, kindly agree to become a trustee, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience.
🌳 Our plans include a beautiful community orchard with fruit trees and benches, somewhere for everyone to relax and enjoy nature.
🌿 We would love to offer home education sessions, equine care, birdwatching, nature activities and opportunities for local groups to use the space.
🦡 Having spent so many years on the land, we know when our resident badgers make an appearance and would love to share this through peaceful badger-watching evenings.
🐾 We also hope to create a secure dog exercise field, something we know our community desperately needs.
Above all, we want to protect what makes this land special whilst creating something that brings people together and benefits our community for generations to come.
It’s early days, and we’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas. This is about what we can achieve together.
